In 2021,10 women embarked on a journey to rebuild their trust in people, and confidence in themselves and ran away to join the circus. Through the extensive experience, expertise and love from Vulcana Circus, these women went from never having tried to cartwheel to performing in QPAC’s Cremorne Theatre in six months. One year on from their performances, we will check in on where these women are now and reflect on the impact that arts-led projects can have on victim-survivors of gender-based violence.

This event is the Opening Night of Chrysalis Project’s Your Inner Circles program, running throughout the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. To mark this, QPAC, Vulcana and Micah Projects will revisit the beautiful contemporary circus performance and life-changing project Circus In A Tea Cup.
